ARCHITECTURE
Single-family house with sea views nestled in the beautiful landscape of La Costa Brava. The area belongs to Santa Cristina d’Aro town hall, Baix Empordà district (Girona); the building reinterprets in a contemporary language the traditional Catalan Masia. The project seeks the contrast between the traditional and modern through a delicate study of the light accentuating the textures of the materials: stone, iron, concrete and wood. These are represented as a duality of textures and contrasts, rustic and modern constructions, warm and cold materials. An approach that integrates the environment and the idyllic views of this bucolic Mediterranean spot.
INTERIOR DESIGN
In a parcel of 12.864 m2, the house is required to gather a large family during holidays and rest days all year round. The building comprises a spacious common area on the main floor and two private areas: one at the back of the main floor and the other occupies fully the first floor. The Masia, equipped with all commodities of an urban house, has been designed with a combination of modern and traditional materials. A project that seeks to conciliate the rural and the urban, the sea and the mountain, the shared life and the family autonomy.
